Fun with Birch Tree Bark
Illustration for WNC Magazine.
I'm finding that trees and plants are some of my favorite subjects to draw.
Goats and insects too... though oddly enough, even looking at reference shots elicits instinctive recoil and disgust.
Illustration for the Savannah Morning News, a children's mini-spy for the Johnny Mercer Centennial.
Can you spy:

fedora
little man logo
crab
river
train
bird

If you happen across the article, "Tent city: A Child's Urban Adventure," in this mornings New York Times, I hope you enjoy the smell of sweet, sweet irony of city life.
A four year old boy who is self enrolled in afternoon french classes, requests lox on his bagels and refers to potty as "doing my morning toilette," experiences being 'outdoorsey' at a one night tent event in Central Park.
This can only remind me of the tourist, and city folk alike who take pictures of the tweeked-out squirrels in Union Square. Ahhhhh... rabid city wildlife!

HAZZAH!
The long anticipated debut of Candice's blog is here. (Though I'm not sure the anticipation extends beyond myself). :D
Here are a few sketch's I drew over the break and beyond.
Enjoy!
My view of Brooklyn:

... just in case you didn't catch that: "Flying is for people who want to let it all hang out. Invisibility is for fearful crouching masturbator's."
